    Great for a 4200RPM drive!

    Surprised at how quiet the drive is, and it is fairly fast for a 4200RPM drive. Much faster than a Hitachi/IBM IC25N040ATCS04-0. Of course it isn't as fast as a comparable 5400RPM IDE drive, such as a Fujitsu MHV2080AH, or Seagate ST9408114A. Good performance, great reliability, and good quality. Perfect replacement drive for an older laptop. Not to mention you can get these at great prices!

    Not bad

    Speed and storage space not great. But the drive is what it is. A little expensive for what it is, but I guess that is because they are hard to find.

    Old Hitachi Drive

    Look, it is an old hitachi drive. Do not recommend rebuilding your machine with a used drive. Nobody should do that. I purchased this drive for parts to fix other drives. For what I need for, it did the job. For long term, use a different drive. Not that something is wrong with drive, but it is used and its condition has depreciated over age.

    Used 40GB laptop HDD

    I don't normally buy used laptop hard drives. But I needed an inexpensive one. Worked as new. I would defenitly buy another if in need. Always been a fan of Hitachi products.
