A breath of fresh air.
Even 10 years after it was introduced, the iPod touch still elicits joy through its ease of use and thoughtful features. Most of its apps don't work in today's world, but there is still something refreshing of the simplicity and skeuomorphism. It harkens back to a time when mobile devices were not so distracting.

1st gen iPod is still worth the money.
Being the 1st generation iPod Touch, there are plenty of features that this iPod doesn't have. I don't miss them a huge amount (although I'd appreciate getting my 3rd gen iPod back from my husband), and to be honest they don't really improve or detract from the quality of the iPod itself. Small things like push notifications on certain applications aren't compatible with the iPod, and it doesn't have a rocker volume switch, or the built-in speakers. It's slightly clunkier, but it's still the same old iPod, and that's great.Being the 1st generation iPod Touch, there are plenty of features that this iPod doesn't have. Decent experience for a first generation ipod touch.
If you're looking for a personal use(No speakers) mp3 player with a ton of storage space and plenty of room for applications, or you just want to store your music library this Ipod touch is for you! You can adjust the brightness unlike most products I've purchased in the past to save battery life. It has a quick convenient slide to unlock feature. Over all without speakers(You can purchase external speakers for these items dirt cheap 10 -20 bucks tops depending on how high quality you're after) this item is a B+If you're looking for a personal use(No speakers) mp3 player with a ton of storage space and plenty of room for applications, or you just want to store your music library this Ipod touch is for you! Great for cheap music player, but would invest in newer model.
Keep in mind that I am writing this review in 2013, several years since this model of the iPod touch has come out. There are now newer and better versions of the itouch that one might consider investing in. If you are looking for a cheap but good device to play music, some videos or even have pictures on with occassional internet browsing then this is one answer. But as for apps this old version isn't the best choice. Apple's newest opperating systems are not compatible with this old device, meaning alot of the apps aren't either. Bottom line is that yes this would work great for a cheap but good touch screen music player. However if it was me I would spend the extra money and buy one of the newer models, say a forth generation or up.Keep in mind that I am writing this review in 2013, several years since this model of the iPod touch has come out. Overall Happy, but could have been a bust...
Overall this would have been an Excellent Rating, however... Arrived quickly and what appeared to be as described. Unit was refurbished with either a replacement battery added, or other repairs done. Exterior of unit was touched up with paint on surrounding case where normal wear had occurred. The real issue here was when they painted the unit, they also got paint on the antenna inside, which caused zero WiFi ability, unless you were right next to the router. Luckily I know a thing or two and was able to take the unit apart, clean the antenna and get the WiFi back up and working.
