It's a PS3 Optical Drive
Had a "fat" PS3 with a drive that wouldn't read discs, bought it for $20 bucks. Replaced the optical drive with this unit and the PlayStation works like new again! Swap out is easy if you know what you're doing so this is a win all day in my book.

Deck was a different design than shown but laser worked perfect
Couldn't use the deck. It was a lot different than the one shown in the picture. When the tray would close it hit the worm gear. I swapped the new laser from this one into the old deck and the laser worked great in a Sony Bluray player and fixed no disc error.

Just what I needed.
Shipped super quick from CA in a nice foam enclosed box. Came with almost everything I needed to replace the entire laser and motor mechanism for my PS3 fat model CECHGxx. I just had to take the rubber mounts for the screws from the old unit and put them on the new one. Super easy so not a complaint at all. Replacing this laser mechanism fixed the issue I was having with the optical drive feeding and ejecting but not spinning or reading the disc. It comes with the entire assembly, minus the rubber feet, making for a very straightforward replacement. There are several YouTube videos that are very helpful. Everything is now working as it should. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with the same issue.
