An LED light located on the head of the connector shows you the charging status of the MacBook's lithium-ion battery. The MagSafe power adapter also provides safety and security. The magnetic DC connector will automatically disconnect under serious strain, protecting your power cable. The DC cable can be wound all the way around the connector for easy storage.

    Apple Macbook Pro 60W MagSafe Charger Power Adapter A1344

    This Macbook Pro Power Adapter works as it should for powering my Macbook Pro. If possible give it enough airflow around it to keep it cool as it does get warm. Price was good and much less expensive than buying one thru Apple. I gave this 4 stars only because these power adapters do not last forever; whether it came from the Apple store or online on eBay. They do "wear-out" and fail. That said it might be wise to keep a spare one handy when it fails.

    Only works as an AC Adapter, but doesn't charge the computer

    I bought this macbook pro AC adapter charger for my dad because his old one died. Unfortunately, it only works to power on the computer and not charge it. I left it plugged in for several hours and it failed to charge the battery at all. If you're looking for a cheap way to power on your macbook when kept plugged in, then this could work, but don't trust it as a replacement charger.
