I purchased this voice recorder so that I can keep the minutes for a club meeting and have a copy to transcribe afterwards rather than taking notes during the meetings. I can also use this to remember ideas and information while I am driving so that I don't have to stop and make notes. I like the small size and large capacity of this recorder and I find it very functional. Although I did not get a copy of the owners manual with mine, that information is available to download from the Olympus website. I would likely buy this item again.
Great General Mono format Recorder. Stereo recording for everyday activity is not a requirement and is kind of overkill. This VN-5200PC is fine with it's mono 1 channel recording. Long battery life, and lot's of record time. WMA file format is easily manipulated and cut spliced and audio edited using free AUDACITY SOUND EDITOR software. VN-5200PC allows USB transfer to PC. VN-5200PC not the VN-5200. Be sure to get VN-5200PC.
I love the voice activation feature. I have one already but needed one to keep in the car. When I went to buy one it had been discontinued so I'm bidding on one on ebay. I use one primarily for recording illegal entries into my home. Thus far it has captured several and it has been possible to identify the intruders to the police from it.
Great recorder with different folder files, good quality sound at different volume levels, highest is loud, easy to erase, easy to record, shows current date & and time of day on screen and you can down load to your computer.
