Solidly built, and do recommend it.
The antenna was easy to set up, but I had one small bolt missing, however I had one, and fixed it easily. I tightened up all a the bolts, and put an outdoor glue on all threads to make sure the bolts and nuts do not work themselves loose, because the antenna is in an out door situation that has a lot of vibration in the wind and elements. Overall It is well built, however I am a bit worried that the plastic mounts for the longer elements might not hold up in the long run...I wish they were made of metal instead of plastic. Also, the antenna mount is on the back end, and this causes the weight of the antenna to put a lot of strain on the mount, and because of this it has to be mounted on a very strong pole. Average Performance
This antenna is very easy to assemble and mount. Performance is good up to 30 miles. If your stations are 50 miles away, you will need a 10 or 12 foot antenna. I also have a RCA 751 antenna, which is little better than this ANI-24UV antenna. Designed to fit 1" pole, but with a slight bending adjustment will fit a 2" diameter pole. Pole is not included in sale. (Pole/mount is included for RCA 751 product). This antenna is very easy to assemble and mount. Performance is good up to 30 miles. Each reviewer's results are unique and they don't mean much if there's no comparison and, in reality, there's no one antenna that will be good for everyone at every address and at every location at that address because in difficult reception areas there are so many variables. The smaller RCA with fewer UHF elements might be better for you depending on the RF channels in your area. I compared/tested the RCA and the ANI-AV on the same mast and at various heights at my difficult reception location and the ANI-AV was very good receiving RF channels 9 and 10, the best of the small antennas I have tested at this address and location for for these two channels from Walnut Grove, California, but its UHF performance was not as good as the RCA receiving RF channels 25 and 35. The recessed ... Each reviewer's results are unique and they don't mean much if there's no comparison and, in reality, there's no one antenna that will be good for everyone at every address and at every location at that address because in difficult reception areas there are so many variables. I was able to scan in 59 channels but most of the time it maxed out at 52 to 55 channels. Construction seems to be solid easy pop open elements. The antenna is mounted 5ft. above the roof peak so it is about 15ft. above ground level. Most distant station is 63 miles away Negatives are minor mounting bolts aren't the industry standard 7/16th and plastic shroud on antenna connection had to be cut away with a hack saw to screw the "F" fitting on to it.
