    THESE ARE GREAT UNITS...SONY ES PRODUCTS ARE BUILT .....YOU CAN TELL JUST FROM THE WEIGHT OF THE UNIT. PLAYS THE BLU RAYS QUITE WELL, BUT I REALLY LIKE PLAYING REGULAR DVD MOVIES AND SEEING THE UPSCALING .....ITS ABOUT 89% BLU RAY, PRETTY COOL. SOUND IS GREAT, WHEN YOU TURN THE UNIT ON IT OPENS UP THE INPUT AND GOES THERE...READY TO PLAY. SONY EX IS GREAT. I REALLY LIKE THIS UNIT AS IT WAS PRODUCED BEFORE THE CINEVIA BLOCK AND DOES NOT RECOGNIZE IT....NICE UNIT FOR SURE.

    Best Blu-Ray player available!

    This unit has everything going for it as long as price is not a factor. Not only does it decode all the new HD Audio formats internally but also passes them through HDMI to be decoded by your receiver. Due to its isolated audio and video circuitry the quality is amazing. The video is also just as amazing when attached to an HDTV of good quality. With many adjustable video processing features built right into the player and the ability to upconvert your dvd collection to 1080p you certainly get what you pay for. The price tag may be high but no other Blu-Ray player can perform better than the flagship player from the company that created the Blu-Ray technology.

    Audiophile Quality:

    The SONY BDP-S5000ES Blu-ray player is built to last. The video and audio performance will please even the most discriminating audiophile. The mass and rigidity of the chassis make for a vibration resistant and bullet proof device. SONY didn't skimp on quality with this model. Even the RCA jacks are machined rather than pressed sheet metal. Well worth a look for anyone who wants a Blu-ray player that will last many, many years.

    Best player since sliced bread

    Wanted the best and i got and more this player has a 14 mg chip in it for prosier and wow dose it work take reg DVD and coverts them up to 1080p dose a good job at it to loads fast and once you set up the menu its good to go would suggest to do this because it is not a plug and play unit it simply the best and when set up right it is fantastic also i put a coxal Nordos Silver shadow and have a Nordost HMDI con. what a pict over all one of the best little pricey but worth every penney..........................B

    If you need 7.1 rca outs, you get this one.

    It’s no SACD compatible, but CDs sound amazing compared to my McIntosh MVP841. Very slow to low tho.
