The pop up mode..no good
The pop up mode, does not work. When I turn the pop up mode manually, it just stays ringing and saying "laser". Range is bad as well..my 50 dollar Cobra works better..Faster! Fast response in these machines is a must, other wise useless. Long range and speed are not met by the Whistler Z-19R.

The best RD under $120!
I've compared this RD with a few of the higher end models, like the Escort Passport 8500 x50 and the Escort Redline. This performs admirably compared to the $500 detectors. When tested side by side, the Escort Redline would alert to a signal (over a mile away from the source), and within 3 seconds the Z-19R would start alerting. So you have ample time to react before the speed trap can actually see you. I've also tested it against some lower end detectors like the Cobra XRS line and Whistler's XTR-438, XTR-558, XTR-658, XTR-145, CR65, CR 75. The Z-19R out-performed them all! Set up is easy, and there are multiple modes to choose from to program it to your driving style. There are very few false alarms and you can pretty much eliminate false alarms by turning TFSR on. Works perfectly. Not the best, but it is a basic model with basic functions. Picks up radar from a decent distance for plenty of reaction time. Great bargain, but expect some false alerts especially in larger cities.

I have one, this thing just makes a bunch of noise, go's off for no reason when nothing is even there. I know they go off when ur close to aromatic opening doors at stors and some security systems that normal but this thing just gos off when theres nothing around..... u pass right buy cops and it dont make a sound. I have a cobra 9 band and that thing works great. I have to give it.more time to see how well it works but right now 100% junk.....I have one, this thing just makes a bunch of noise, go's off for no reason when nothing is even there.
