    Best of the Older GPS's

    After researching GPS's under $100, I bought a used T2200 and have been VERY happy with it. For $75.... I don't think I could ask for more. I read many bad reviews that unfairly criticized some of the features. No, it does NOT give you CITY names on the map, but if you don't know what town you are in or near, you need more than a GPS. No, you cannot play MP3's while navigating... BIG DEAL ... it's a GPS. Of course ALL GPS's occasionally suggest a bad or wrong route or mislabel a street or two... GET OVER IT! Although the data on this GPS is about 3 years old.... it AMAZES me how much IS accurate. It gathers satellite data even indoors! It speaks street names! Rerouting is fast! Automatic night-mode is wonderful! Get co-ordinates off Google Earth and enter all the POI's you could ever need. ...

    I never get lost or pass my stop

    I bought the GPS as a gift.  I have one, and I love it, It is durable, easy to operate, Has a long battery life. Has an MP3 and photo album. Touch screen. I am never lost, because the voice directions give me adequate time and warning for turns, also gives me the street or exit. The only complaint is constant recalculations at times, and map upgrades are very expensive.

    Magellan 2200t GPS

    This thing simply doesn&apos;t know crap from a good grade of clay. It sends me in opposite directions from the correct direction, doesn&apos;t know how fast I&apos;m driving, can&apos;t tell me my arrival time, didn&apos;t know I was in the North Dakota Badlands. As long as I am on a major freeway, it works, but in a city it sends you in a round about path just to get out of town, sending you in the wrong direction on nonexistent streets. The easiest thing to figure, your speed and the distance left to go should make a predicted time of travel, with a Dollar Store calculator, an easy task, but this thing can&apos;t figure it out, it is locked in a half of my actual speed mode. I updated to the latest firmware as suggested by the support person, but is now worse that before the update.The ...

    Value Return

    Primarily purchased for its water resistant feature for use on a motorcycle, The 2200T is more compact and lighter than the TomTom or ZUMO and even after having to purchase the RAM Mount for the bike I was still able to put $300.00 plus back in my pocket. Availability of the 2200T is not as good as it was, but the 2500 is a great second choice with security lanyard loop and ToPo features added. I am at a loss at this point to find something I don&apos;t like about it.
