The main characters made it through the 3rd season, that says a lot!!! HBO knows how to get you hooked. I watched the full season in like 3 days sneaking around the kids, it’s so addicting. Cannot wait to have time for season 4.

After Season 2's cliffhanger, we're left with a fairly dry (and probably disappointing) resolution... which happens to be the plot of this third season. To be honest, the story here is in shambles. Without spoiling anything, every character is more-or-less left to fend for themselves, and while some things do very much come to a head, it seems as though friends are forgotten, and relationships are dissolved much too fast. Add an extremely last minute revenge sub-plot, and just like Sookie, you may feel tired. That is why this get's knocked down two stars. What I did enjoy was the introduction of the character Alcide who truly does fit in with the story and doesn't feel forced in. Some characters develop much more than others (and those who don't, unfortunately are drained of interest), ... The vampires, as per usual, reign supreme as Jessica, Eric, and Pam steal the spotlight whenever they are around, but more interesting is the eldest vampire who is portrayed as the villain of the season (apart from Sookie's choice in men). As for the DVD itself, it's packed with extras and bonus features that any fan would be more than pleased with. It won't play on older dvd players or an Xbox 360, however, as always, if you can play it on your PC, you'll be set.

This is a fun series. a bit too sexual; however, season 3 is toned down from the other two seasons. I read the series the books keep true to the general spirt of the series. there are, however, some curves and changes creating fun variations to the storyline. Harris' books are lacking the colorful demension brought by the addition of Raphel and Jessica. It's fun mindless, a little too overboard with the antichristian bigotry. And there is also the common fault of showing everyone as unrealistically young and beautiful, that gets tiring. It's insulting almost stupid of the writers. GREAT SEASON! SEASON 4 SUCKS IN A GOOD WAY!!
This was a truly great season of True Blood that leads into a GREAT season for season four!! Season three brought the King of Louisiana, Russel Edgington, who is a VERY bad vampire! He goes against the AVL MANY times to disastrous measures. It ALSO introduces us to Alcide, a HOT werewolf willing to do anything for Sookie. We get Jesus, FINALLY a boyfriend for Lafeyette that is PERFECT for him!! Tara gets kidnapped by vampires, and Sookie learns the truth about Bill and where he has been at. It all adds up to a fantastic MUST SEE season! And I am SO happy to now add this to my collection!! Get hooked on a great series. Relax and enjoy the creatures of the night.
I watched True Blood on TV. Then, when season one became available for purchase, I bought it and watched it with a friend, who is also hooked on the show now too. Season Two was not as good as Season One, but Season Three made up for it. It is an amazing show based on Charlaine Harris's novels. The novels do not contain one of the main characters that the shows do. So, even if you have read all of her books, you'll want to see the shows. She is a prolific writer, with more than True Blood (Sookie Stackhouse, telepath) as the protagonist. Season one was vampires, but you'll find references to future books and shows, and the mystique of otherly world creatures. It is not for children and would have to be rated R or X. But it is earns the rating with amazing honesty. Do, yourself a favor, and ... I watched True Blood on TV.
