The World of WarCraft expands to resist the invasive corruption of the Burning Legion in the game's first retail add-on package. The Dark Portal is reopened, and it is left to the greatest heroes of the Horde and the Alliance to rise up and meet the soulless scourge in its otherworldly garrisons -- lest they face it once again in their troubled homelands of Azeroth. Two new races arrive with The Burning Crusade expansion. The fair Blood Elves, doomed descendants of the High Elves who fought alongside Humans against Orcs generations earlier, join the Horde. The bulky Draenei, of a refugee people that managed to resist the Legion's demonic corruption, have fled their world and joined the Alliance of Azeroth. Blood Elves may become Paladins, and Draenei may become Shaman, opening these classes to their respective factions for the first time. Seven surreal Outland regions are added by The Burning Crusade expansion. Only the most veteran heroes of the Horde and the Alliance will be powerful enough to confront the Eredar, Gronn, and other corrupt creatures that rule there. The new "Caverns of Time" battlegrounds allow players to fight in crucial conflicts from WarCraft real-time strategy lore. The expansion adds dozens of monsters and hundreds of quests, raises the level cap to 70, and brings flying mounts for the mightiest of the mighty. An additional profession, jewelcrafting, is introduced. High-level spells and talents are added, and new equipment becomes available -- including socketed items to be enhanced with jewels. A full installation of the main World of WarCraft game is required to play the add-on. While some of expansion's new content is available to all existing World of WarCraft players, those who wish to visit the Outland or create characters of the new races must install The Burning Crusade.

I've been playing the expansion pack pretty much since it came out, I never was part of the old world WoW so my entire experience has been post-BC. I have LOVED this game, definitely something that if you have the time and desire to do... do it! I have really only one critique on the game itself. Note: anyone who has an addictive personality, shouldn't be playing the game. Self-control and moderation, like anything else, is key to playing WoW. The PvE (Player vs. Environment) aspect of the game has been seriously harmed by the addition of the arena PvP (Player vs. Player). Don't get me wrong, I had 3 level 70s, one PvP focused and two PvE focused. The arenas are fantastic fun and adrenaline pumping action but the PvE has been thrown out the window because all people ... This also applies then to the 5 man instances in Outland (areas new to the expansion pack). People barely run those instances because it's easier to get the PvP gear rather than run the instances. All-in-all: a fantastic game that I loved every minute I played, but know that the PvE aspect of the game has been harmed due to the increasing focus that the gamemakers have on PvP.

While its too early to say, the expansion is not all it's cracked up to be. It's got a few new bells and whistles such as new zone of Outland, one new profession, two new races, and an overhaul in itemization, but when it boils down, this game is made for level 60's. Why do I say this? Outland is off limits till 58+, meaning if you just bought World of Warcraft and are not interested in rolling Blood Elf or Draeni, then don't bother picking up that expansion quite yet. Also the old professions are overhauled for 60+ characters, I was really hoping they would add a few more low level instances or something to spice up that average level 40. I guess you win some and lose some. Boiling it down: If your level 60, this is a must have. If your not, wait it out! I know you're missing a ... Side Note: This review can't be complete because I have not run 25 Man Raids, I am looking forward to this but alas, the game is only a couple of days old. Difficulty: Same as World of Warcraft Gameplay: Same as World of Warcraft with a couple of new elements, like Bombing runs on a flying mount. Graphics: After getting a buff in coding, these graphics won't bog down when you and 39 of your buddies start casting spells. Sound: Just as good as it once was, with a few new voices. Value: If your 60 Great, if you're not, =(

A bit more of the same
As always Blizzard brings great content. HOWEVER, its alot of the same old grind. If you didn't mind the first 500+ hours of grinding then you'll love the expansion. PROS - Outland has alot of really aesthetic new areas, team PVP arenas, flying mounts(NICE!), new instances are usually 25 man.(= less time to gather players) CONS- alot of the new world mobs are just tiny variations of the old content. NOT VERY ORIGINAL BLIZZARD!!! and lots and lots of GRINDING!!!! ARGH!As always Blizzard brings great content. HOWEVER, its alot of the same old grind. Burning Crusade thoughts from an active 70 shaman
I started playing WoW the day it was released. My main is a shaman, level 60 with full Warlord Gear and High Warlord Weapons, plus a full set of MC gear. I also play a 60 hunter and have a 60 rogue to top off the 60s list. Before the expansion I played daily, mixing my time with PvP and 2 to 3 nights of raiding. Burning Crusade for me is a questing dream. I haven't quested for so long that this expansion is very refreshing for me. I am 62 now and the quests are progressive, well thought out and move you naturally through the various areas. I also like the instances so far. I have done Ramparts, Furnace and the Slave pens. I have more gold than ever before because the rewards are good and I haven't spent any time on upping my trade skills (Herbalism, alchemy, cooking). I think once I get ... I wouldn't mind more "elite" quests, so far the ones I have done have been solo or duo with my husband. He is 65 and can kill 68 mobs with ease. Of course he is a Warlock and we all know how overpowered they are. If you previously quit WoW due to boredom and are thinking of returning, I highly suggest you try it again. It really is very engaging and yet entertaining. At 62 I have already upgraded many of my Warlord Enhancement pieces, and one or two healing pieces. I am an avid PvPer and cannot wait to hit 70 and then have endless hours of killing alliance ahead of me! I personally decided to buy BC because I heard that the questing was very extensive and fun. At first I was going to wait a bit, but friends who did the beta kept on about how good it was...they were right! Oh and yes I created a Blood Elf Pally! UPDATE - I am now 70 and am still fully enthralled with the questing. Oh and my oh my did Blizzard hit the nail on the head with flying mounts. For those of you who loved the Dragon books by Ann McCaffrey and as a kid dreamed about flying on your own dragon or pegasus, WoW is the thing for you... Flying allows for quick and efficient outdoor questing. Some bosses are purposefully up high in the trees or tops of pedestals at the higher lvl guesting areas to make us flyers feel like our flying gives us an advantage. I have now completed my Karazhan key and I find that it is a very difficult 10 man dungeon, perfect for your guild's first BC raid experience with a larger complement of lvl 70s. Honestly the gear there is not great, I haven't seen much in the way of upgrades for me yet, but the faction ring you get quite fast at friendly was an immediate upgrade. Our group hit friendly within an hour of our first time there. I ended up respeccing Resto from Enh and now have two full nice sets of gear. I still wear my enhancement gear when soloing or PvPing and the resto gear when in stancing. I am pretty well able to solo heal 5 mans. Our Priests have all specced shadow so Usually the main healers are me and a pally. PvP review. I have joined 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 arena teams. our 5v5 is pretty good, we win more than 50% each week. I get killed the most. They always go after the shaman because 1. were an easy kill and 2. it removes our bloodlust and totems from the game. Ive upped my hps to offset this slaughter to my person, Im now over 10k hps buffed and it does make a difference. To give some validity to this review, here are my specs atm, Resto gear: +1014 heal/+11% crit/+45mp5/9.4k mana. Enh gear: +950AP/+102 hit/+19.5% crit

One of the ultimates RPGs in gaming experience. Allows you more choice in character, alliance and quests then the original WoW alone. Allows you to to communicate with other players and have the challenge and fun of working with new people or friends in a fantasy environment. Some people can be rather... odd to say the least I am very glad I purchased this game on eBay... I get 100% of the entertainment on only a fraction of the cost. The only problem I have is the monthly payments, but I know that is the price that will have to be played when enjoying such a game.One of the ultimates RPGs in gaming experience.
