  • Its a fantastic piece and a perfect performance!

Its Karajan's last performance. Although Kissin unlike Mutter is not perfect (the piece is one of the hardest piano works but others did perform it better. others like Richter and Berman and ...) but I do recommend watching it as the last Karajan's performance. By the way the Classical Symphony is in perfect shape! If you are not a Karajan fan, get it and watch it and the you may become one! for someone just months apart from death its a miracle! and he did it, He was devoted to music for almost all of his life.

  • Definately a great bargain - You won't go wrong with this one.

I really enjoyed watching this performance of the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto #1. Even though Engeny Kissin made a few mistakes, I liked his precise interpretation, although he looked a little intimidated by Von Karajan. The Prokofiev was a real bonus too, although I didn't buy it for that.
