Great but a little mysterious
I'm disappointed that KitchenAid no longer makes glass jars, but this fits my KSB5 blender perfectly, no leaks. The item came with no packaging or information, just wrapped in bubble wrap in a large envelope, so I'm not sure if it can be put in the dishwasher, also not sure of country of origin. But it works great, and was certainly cheaper than replacing my whole blender after I broke the glass jar.I'm disappointed that KitchenAid no longer makes glass jars, but this fits my KSB5 blender perfectly, no leaks. Lightweight and seemingly unbreakable, much better than the glass one, but...
It's light and it seems to be the exact same shape as the original glass carafe, but the threads are too long on the base of the plastic carafe so it doesn't seal properly, and it leaks. I will have to find a thinner gasket than the original gasket. This problem is probably why other replacement carafes come with a gasket and a base to match the carafe.

The screw threads at the base of the jar are a slightly different length than the original glass jar. This results in an inability to screw the jar to the base with a gasket. Close but not quite isn't close enough for a blender unless you don't mind a blender that leaks. Leaks
This blender jar fits perfectly on my KitchenAid Blender and is so lightweight!! My complaint is that it leaks. I screw it to the blender but it's stripped. I can't tightened it all the way without it unthreading itself. It creates a huge mess everytime I use it!

Preferred the original glass, but the plastic is ok and is the only substitute availabile. Leaked on first use, but was able to tighen it down more to avoid leak.
