OK for Cost
There are several different style and brands of this product. For what I wanted this was a fair value and workable product. I will not use it for travel, but carry it for ease of one person loading and unloading. Yes, when loading, as some have indicated, it can sway a little and it can be inconvenient to take on and off. But I have a cheaper hitch that I use to put in just for loading and unlading this bar and then use another hitch when I am ready for serious towing. But for giving me a shot at safely loading kayak and aluminum canoe alone without harming back or other muscles, it works just fine. Yes, as some reviewers have indicated, its a good idea to add a support extension or bungee to the top bar when swiveling the kayak/canoe around. If you want a travelling support, you ... It came late. I PAID for 2 day shipping. It got here at 6:20 on the sixth day. It is missing a rubber part that protects the canoe. TO be able to use it I had to buy a piece that fits into the receiver in the car, and I had to buy a rubber sleeve to protect the canoe, It is also very heavy. To use it you must remove the ball on the hitch. like removing the hitch ball is easy. You need two men hitch wrenches and slugging hammers. That ball holds thousands of pounds. This rack is ideal for my kayak.

Better way to load a boat
Like not having to lift the whole canoe onto the car much more safe to get 1 end on the tool then pick up the other end and walk it inplace....would like to see the top rotating pice be longer to have the canoe straight when towing a trailer ..you have to turn the lift to a side which makes the boat not straight on the car ..I would recommend the lift

Need a hitch
Great product. Must have your own hitch(the part you mount a ball on) in order for it to work. I had to use a longer piece of square tubing to get it out past my 37x13.50 spare on my Jeep. But still a great product for the money. Easy to load a canoe on a lifted jeep!
