Create a home entertainment system like no other with the Polk RC85i in-wall speakers. The sleek and compact unit will fit right into a customized space that keeps them hidden but takes nothing away from the powerful audio sound. Place these high-performance units into your wall or even in your ceiling and feel the beat of the music surrounding you throughout your house.For easy installation, use the Rotating Cam Mounting system that sets them up within minutes. Enjoy very little interference and feedback from the polymer cones that produce deep bass sounds to get you moving to the music. Use 20 to 100 watts per channel to pump the volume as high or low as you want with these Polk surround sound speakers.With the in-wall or in-ceiling approach, you won't need to worry about the speakers taking up space on the floor of your home theater area. You can place each unit inside a wall and make it flush to the surface with the speaker facing into the room. You will need to make a small incision for each of your speakers. Using the cam system means that you can install and mount the RC85i units without too much trouble once you have opened the surface. The final result is a speaker that you can barely see but which delivers amazing audio. Not only is it convenient, but the unusual angle also opens up a whole new type of soundstage for you. You can deploy a pair of these to a second room to create a multi-zone home entertainment system. The speaker has one woofer for the midrange that is 8 inches in diameter along with a 1-inch tweeter. It has an impedance of 8 Ohms. The RC85i is designed to build a whole soundstage so that you can immerse yourself in the audio. This is not just good for an in-wall speaker: the 85i has a quality all its own due to the way the sound can fill a room. With a top wattage of 100 per channel, each unit can pump out enough volume to drive a party or pull you into a movie. You can run the wires in-wall to keep them out of sight when you connect them to your amp or receiver. Dampers in the back of the speaker unit keep the sounds unidirectional. This means that neighbors with shared walls are still respected.The characteristic of the audio is classic Polk. That means the audio is clean and clear without coloration of the signal source. The treble is light and crystalline, the mids warm, and the bass can boom if the audio calls for it. You will need an amp or a receiver to power and drive a pair of RC85i speakers. You can also tack on accessories like a subwoofer if you are interested in changing the bass.
