Better than onboard and PCI sound card.

Having run my Excelvan BM-800 microphone through the onboard audio and a PCI Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE, I experienced some hissing when listening to the microphones output, this was due to electronic interference as many say. Using this USB sound card fixed that for me and the only background noise I hear now is the actual hum of my computer. The package comes with a USB extension cable in case you want to not have the sound card plugged directly to the USB port, this is handy since as shown in pictures, there are controls for volume, speaker mute and microphone mute. The blinking blue LED can be annoying but if you don't plan on fiddling with the controls that much, you can just hide it behind something on your desk. Overall I highly recommend this if you want a separate sound ...

  • USB Sound Card with Sabrent Chip.

Not sure about the virtual 7.1 features on this device but it works really well with a large diaphragm condenser microphone. On board sound cards and even a PCI card only output 3 volts which is too low for a Phantom power microphone. 5 volts from the USB works for basic Phantom power devices. I use it for pod casting, creating videos, and video chat and it makes a world of difference in output with the condenser microphone. For music recording or vocals I would personally use an actual 48 volt Phantom power device such as a mixer or USB audio interface made for this purpose. For basic chat and videos works perfectly with the BM800 Condenser Pro Audio Microphone. Haven't used the output side but the Sabrent is a quality device and with 5 volts of power should put out plenty of signal ...

  • Very happy with it

I have a new headset that I bought to play on PC, the problem is that ot had a microphone and a headphone jack and I couldn't connect to them to the PS4's input. I tried a Y splitter but it didn't work it didn't catcb the microphone. Than I bought another USB sound card at Target which was complete trash. Today I recieved this on in my mailbox and I went to put it on my PS4 ans it didn't fit, luckily it came with a USB extension. It sounds clear on both ends. All the buttons work on the card, my only complain would be the LED light constanlty flashing, it's not a big issue since you can easily cover it. For 12 bucks I'd say it works great. Turns any headset into a USB headset

  • It'll hold up.

Got this to help my mic output properly but it came with no instructions whatsoever. It's all that's in the box besides a USB extender (didn't know it came with it but i won't complain) I've had a lot of issues setting this thing up and to the average person, they'll probably come into the same problems. I plugged it in to the back of my computer (all usb ports eventually) and came to find that only the speakers i plugged into it would work, plugging in my mic wouldn't even show up sound as i checked. Since this didn't come with anything i had no idea if i had to press the buttons for something to work, so i messed around with it and still to no avail. Eventually i found out that i had to actually disable/forget the other sound options i have showing up on my speaker/recording settings in ...

  • Sabrent USB Sound Card

I purchased the card to use with an old bare-bones machine I bought to upgrade. I run Win XP SP3 on it and the card installed easily and worked well once I changed the Bios sound function from interior to exterior. I coupled the card with some not great Logitech speaks that also had a subwoofer and played a CD to test the sound, It was not loud and produced distortion (maybe with better speaks this might not have occurred) when turning up the volume. But at lower volume it was very smooth and adequate for the small space in which I plan to use it. The card is a very good value for the money.
