These handheld portable Handie-Talkie series radios are built by the trusted Motorola company and boast plenty of reliable features, such as a microphone for voice clarity, touch code signaling for voiceless communication, and a battery-saving time-out feature for turning the device off when not in use. The Motorola Handie-Talkie radio product doubles as an FM transmitter for listening to emergency radio signals and can be operated with your choice of Ni-Cad batteries for extra utility. Only one Ni-Cad battery is required to operate each handheld unit in this Motorola Handie-Talkie radio system, and it’s a good idea to carry a spare if you are going to be out for a while and away from your charging unit. These Motorola Handie-Talkie radios allow two or more users to communicate over their choice of six available channels that range from 136 MHz up to 520 MHz, including private, encrypted channels. Radio cloning lets different work groups operate on different frequencies, and then members can use the cloning capabilities to move from group to group easily. These electronics are also field programmable, so you don’t have to open the cases to reprogram them; you just plug a cable interface into the radio and a PC. The Motorola Handie-Talkie mobile unit is small in size, lightweight, and rugged in its design, making it an ideal piece of radio equipment for outdoor or commercial operations. Each unit weighs in at under 25 ounces, with the specific weight determined by the Ni-Cad battery installed in the device. This Motorola VHF-UHF radio receiver model meets military standards for rain, and it has side-loaded O-ring gaskets that add to its water resistance, make it dust resistant, and also make it resistant to shocks and vibrations, so if you drop it while hiking or need to talk while moving around, it can still send or receive a clear signal. These devices are safe to use in hazardous areas and are rated as nonincendive. You have the choice of manually dialing each time or programming the auto-dial feature to reduce the time you spend calling out. A number of accessories are available for these two-way radios to enhance the utility and enjoyment you get from using them, including carrying cases, a UHF speaker/microphone/antenna, a remote speaker-microphone, a vehicular adapter, desktop chargers, a compact charger, and spare batteries.
