A great very powerful and flexible remote when new but wears out in time
I have purchased more than a dozen of this over the past 13 years. This remote is loaded with features some of which are not published in the owners manual. If you are comfortable with basic soldering, a 6 pin header can be added to the circuit board which allows you to create custom devices not found in the owners manual. This header is known as a JP1 connector and connects to a windows based computer through an inexpensive interface available through JP1 forums. The learning function can learn about 12 commands from factory remotes. You can lock the volume and channel controls to one device. The backlit keys are clearly visible in low light. The 4 AAA batteries will last for about 6 weeks under normal use. The down side to this remote is that the buttons will wear out after about a ... I periodically watch Ebay for a new one to pop up and buy it. Most of the used ones I have purchased have one or more non functioning button and/or a dim or non functional back light,
