Was so fun opening up a part of history. I never realized how bad surplus items stink tho! knife, tho definitely new, did have built up surface rust. Idk why the military didn’t oil the thing better before packaging it. To remove surface rust make sure you don’t use chemicals. Use gun oil and a soft cloth. You don’t want to destroy the petina. thanks again, looks great on my shotgun. would buy again!definitely 3D printing a scabbard to use until the surplus stink dissipates on the real one.

Everything looks good, has some surface petina and rust. What would be expected from long storage for reissue items. Everything cleaned up great and I am very happy with my purchase. Awesome seller.

Ebay won't let me leave Neutral or Negative. Just got this and it looks nothing like the pictures. White paint on the scabbard with the steel tip missing which I guess might mean it's older? The blade has nicks in it like it was beaten on a steel rod and the point completely flat. Plus according to the papers the bayonet and scabbard were wrapped in, it's from 1984. Not "Vietnam era". I understand that it's labeled used, but for another $40 I could get one that was NOS condition. Shipped fast.
