A fun way to learn colors
We LOVE Signing Time! We've been signing with my daughter since she was six months old (she didn't start signing back until 9 months) and the VAST majority of the signs she knows she's picked up from the Signing Time Series. This video in particular teaches the colors of the rainbow (among many other things) and within a couple of views she would ask us to sing the colors of the rainbow song they sing in the video and she would try and do the color signs along with us. We also encourage her to use the signs along with the words when we talk about colors around the house ("do you want the purple bib or the green one?"). Sometimes my daughter even picks up signs we miss. I was cutting up a watermelon the other day and I asked her if there was a sign for watermelon and sure enough she knew ... We LOVE Signing Time! Great way to learn American Sign Language
We bought this DVD for our 20 month old granddaughter, who is not hearing impaired. She loves every part of this DVD. She has learned to sign 15 or more words; ALL learned from DVDs in this series, and in just about 4 weeks time. This method of communicating has cut down on frustration, is a great way to spend quality family time, and its just FUN! The music is great. The adults and children of all ages make the production seem like you are interacting with friends and family instead of cartoons or puppets. We tried Little Einstein series and all of us enjoy the Signing Time much more. We have recommended these to many people. Even though every child is different and learns differently, I don't think you will be disappointed with Rachel, Alex and Leah.We bought this DVD for our 20 month old granddaughter, who is not hearing impaired.
