This decoder is easy to setup and easy to use. The reception of all channels requires constant re-adjustments of the physical antenna, as tuning to the correct direction of signal source is critical. This fault is compounded by the annoying on-screen display which pops up to state that "no reception is possible" and to "please re-adjust the antenna." This popup lingers until the antenna is adjusted or the channel is changed. Using different types of antennas does not seem to remedy this fault. Changing channels is another annoyance. The device is designed to display the channel and the current program being telecast. More often than not, wrong program names display momentarily before the correct program name displays. Here again, the display remains on-screen for a longer-than-necessary time, interfering with screen views. Both displays are too large. A major fault with this model is the repetitive repeating of the last audio sound when signal strength falters. This repeating sound accompanies a frozen on-screen image which, along with the repeating sound, can be turned off by either changing the channel or moving the antenna to another angle to improve reception. In areas known for faulty signals, such as inner city neighborhoods or communities that are close to transmission towers or who experience lots of fly-overs by helicopters or low-flying planes, this can be a major source of interference and annoyance. Economically priced by comparison with competing brands, this model will adequately serve viewers who only use a small or limited number of channels and who are in areas with minimal interference factors. Alternatively, a better quality decoder box would be preferred over the DTA800B. Given the alternatives and options, this particular decoder box is not recommended.Read full review

When I hook up the coverter box it got a good number of chaneles but when I turned up the volume I could berly hear it. I even tried it with the rca cables and I stil could not get much volume. I would like to add that the first converter box I ordered from you was great. It had great picture and great volume.

I have had several converter boxes and this is probably the best. Its really easy to use. Works great and the channel buttons on the box itself is nice so you can still use it if u loose the remote.

It deliver anal signal to analog TV. Quality is same as regular analog TV . Too bad that it is missing remote but fortunately it is very easy and very cheap to find universal remote control from RCA, and every of them contains this box code.
