If you still want occasionally to play DVDs or CDs on a portable, this unit is a very good choice, if you get a good one. Outer case is lightweight metal, not plastic, although on the bottom half the grey paint might be worn off in places due to age. Although the screen resolution is not very high, the angle of view is very wide, both from side to side and up and down. Only downside I find is that the player's mechanism makes soft audible clicks while playing, which are of course inaudible when using headphones. This unit works both with its original small Mintek RC-1730 remote and with the larger Mintek RC-320 that shipped with many Mintek component DVD players. It seems that Mintek used the same programming on most of their players and the latter remote actually provides more features. It plays burned discs, too.Read full review

I've had my Mintek 7" screen silver DVD Player for a long time now. It was my FIRST DVD player and it still runs great. However, I guess with having it for a long time as well as playing so many movies on it in the past when I did first get it, now the motor makes a loud continuous noise when I play movies. Gets on my nerves actually. I'm always having to restart the movie to see if it will lessen the noise it makes. Most of the time it doesn't and it continues to make that constant humming loud noise as it plays movies. Other than the noise factor, I love this little DVD player and it HAS lasted! Also, I buy a lot of foreign Asian movies. When I got my second DVD Player, 10" screen Audiovax, I specifically bought it as a Region Free Coded Player so I could play all of my foreign DVD's on but two won't play on it because it doesn't fit on the wheel of this nicer bigger player. They do fit however on my Mintek players wheel as well as play great and it's not even suppose to be a Region Free Coded DVD Player. Go figure! So... with all of this said... I would have to rate this little player 1-10 a 9! I would give it a total 10 if it weren't for the noise it makes everytime I play a DVD/movie on it.Read full review
Great little player. Has only 2 hours and 20 minutes to the battery life so I wish it were longer. And it doesnt have a built in tv which I thought they all did but I love the player. Its light weight and super easy to use and comes with all the cords and charger cords one could think of to keep you into your movies or tv shows on dvd. Will be taking this on all of my trips thats for sure with the nice carry bag that it comes in.
I have purchased several of the same model 1810, friends have the same maker but different model number, the 8.0 screen is a perfect size to view the Movies. In comparison to the others, this size is excellent to travel with, it will fit perfect when you are trying to pack everything, this size is a space saver. This model you can hook a data projector to it as well as a speaker system. This model is getting hard to find, hope to purchase another one. Family members enjoy this Make and model. I have not had any problems with this one, "with a New Battery " or a battery that is not over charged, will last 8 hours, that is if you are just playing movies back to back. This is excellent for any hospital stay, or travel or at the park, beach ect.. The sound is excellent, Headphones make it convenient for personal listening. I have never had a problem with this Make and Model at all.Read full review
It runs quietly. Has easy to use remote and controls on the unit itself. Picture is good quality. I am pleased with this purchase and would recommend to others.
