I used to try and 'cheap' it out on ink and bought the refills.. After losing 2 printers to the cheap ink I am now sold on buying only brand name ink. Funny thing is if you take your time and start looking before you need the ink, you can find some great deals out there. One thing I have found is not to be afraid of 'expired' ink. I have used ink that expired 2 years ago and it worked fine, just remember this only works with OEM brands. That off brand ink is not worth the trouble. You will notice quite a few people sell their ink without the original box, they do that because it is expired and are afraid you will be too afraid to buy theirs. Works fine--too expensive.
I tried a remanufactured cartridge once before. It didn't work out, so now I only by OEM. This one works just like it is supposed to, but I have no idea how long it will last. I think they are too expensive for what you get.
