Good for coarsee grinds but not expresso
Probably works well with coarser grinds but not perfectly with espresso grind. Some fine particles get through making the coffee muddy. Good for an emergency. Until then I'll use paper filters.

#4 Cone Coffee Filter
I was so excited to stop using the paper coffee filters, but this filter is not tall enough and I think the coffee bubbles up over the sides because there is always sludge on the bottom of the coffee pot when I get to the bottom of the pot. If the sides were 5" high instead of 4" high, I think this would help. So...now I'm back to using the paper filters. So sad. :(

I had trouble with grounds ending up in my coffee carafe and I hated it. So I tried this device to see if it would help. It did the trick and I'll never use paper filters again.

Good: it works, price was fair. Bad: fairly flimsy. Not nearly as stout as the 5 year old coffee grinds screen I replaced. Like I said it works and price was fair.

Paid a little more and got a higher quality product. Last one had a seam on the sides that with use separated and became unusable. This one appears to be one-piece molded and I expect it to last much longer.
