Shipping was overpriced. I thought it was high when I purchased, but the listing stated the item would be shipped in a USPS flat rate box, and I didn't know what size box the item would require. The item arrived instead in a USPS padded flat rate envelope. I understand adding a few bucks for "handling," but this was about $15 extra. A commercial padded flat rate envelope is $9.30; this seller charged $24.75 for shipping.

    Alpine B-100T GPS Receiver

    I like this GPS receiver b/c it is feature rich (especially the trip info screen that shows a 3D speedometer) and is extremely accurate. The GPS is easy to use as far as marking places you are at and finding them again in your address book. Ive heard the battery has a short life span, but i dont carry it around to find out. The screen itself is beautiful ALPINE blue and it also plays music (but you have to add the music to an SD card) but if you add the music to an SD card the GPS receiver has an FM modulator. For those that dont know what an FM modulator is, it allows you to tune your car radio to a certain frequency and the GPS will play the music over the air to your car radio...pretty neat item. There are better GPS units out there today, but i bought this one used on ebay for sixty ...

    Alpine Blackbird PMD-B100T

    I have read some of the reviews of this product where people complained about the mount, the functionality of the gps, operation of the touchscreen, even the auto dim feature. All I can say is it must be operator error! This thing works beautifully. I just bought it used here on eBay and I'm thrilled. It will get even better when I download the software update from Alpine. Then the maps will have the 3D option, updated roads and poi. I'm very satisfied with the product, especially the info screen that has a speedometer feature. I would highly recommend this unit to people with some background in mobile electronics, or not. It's so easy to use you don't need to be a professional installer for it to work well.

    Alpine GPS

    I got this unit cause I needed a GPS and I have had other Alpine equipment for a long long time. Yes there are better units out there but most come with extra stuff you will never use and have to pay for. It puts me with in 1/10 of a mile ever time I have used it so its Accurate and Reliable. Two things in need from a talking map. Worth getting.

    You need to be looking at screen to find your way around. That is dangerous.
