I currently have three of these radar detectors and I really like them. They are inexpensive and work well. I don't have the money and I don't find the need to spend hundreds of dollars on radar detectors. This one works well and I have never had something go wrong with them. The 360 degree coverage is nice in case a cop is coming up behind you. I like that the sound mutes some when the signal is constant so that it does not annoy you. And if that is not enough, it also has a mute button to completely mute it. The only thing that I do not like is the fact that there are a lot of false warnings. But in reality, that happens with every detector. Another advantage is that this radar detector is loud. I also have the windows down and the music up and I can still hear it. Had this for a week so far, it picks up x band very good either from automatic doors or speed cameras. Haven't had a chance to see its effectiveness in an actual speed trap yet. I can say its simple to operate compared to the whistler 695 I was using which, died after only 2 yrs. I spent nearly $160 on that unit which is kinda why I went the cheaper route this time. I've read other reviews on various websites and there are a few video's posted on youtube featuring the cobra 7400 model, it seems like an adequate unit. Maybe not top of the line, nor does it have a top of the line price but I'm happy with it so far.
For the inexpensive price, this is a decent radar decector, features and tracks 9 different type of radar, low cost and ease of operation. For a unit of this size and cost, it offers security and peace of mind, no it is not a Valentine, but the technology is equal or better than what Valentine did 10 years ago.
Best bang for the buck. Read many articles and had owned one previously. Lives up to my expectations 100%. A real bargain basement item. Plenty of range and volume. Great features in this price range. Very good performance as well.

So far I have been unable to use it without constant alerts so have turned down the volume. I have tried different settings on a mixture of city and highway driving and too many alerts.
