Item description said aluminum, it is plastic. That said, item is very durable and I am pleased with the item. Will look for another set of straps 'cause these don't tighten. Doesn't seem to matter on flat, the surface grips great. Don't know about hills yet. Shipped fast, don't haggle(33 cents), will outlast the hollow aluminum pipe carts, I think and hope.
