For a 10 year old camera, this takes really good pictures and decent videos. Panasonic used a proprietary USB cable to connect to a computer for viewing and transferring pictures, and this camera didn't come with any cables. It does have a mini HDMI port, which I tested by connecting to a computer monitor and it works fine. I already owned a similar camera (DMC-ZS5), so am familiar with all the features and controls, and have spare batteries and a charger. Oddly enough the USB cable for the ZS5 is different from the ZS6. Removing the SD card to transfer pictures and videos to a computer works fine, but is slower than using a USB cable, but that could be due to my old card reader.

Battery life is shorter than expected (previously had an earlier Lumix ZL1) and the auto image program doesn't seem to produce the sharpness/detail on the image. Example: tale a picture from the street and it look fine but try to zoom in on the house numbers and its blurred. Overall OK but not as impressive as my previous Lumix.

I bought this camera for my Aunt as a smaller companion to her Canon DSLR. The zoom lens for her DSLR made the camera too heavy and this was the perfect alternative for wildlife pictures she needed to zoom in on. Pros: Small size. The camera takes beautiful pictures. So far we have only used the automatic setting, and have achieved great results. Most of the controls and menu options are easy to operate. One thing to keep in mind, is to let the camera frame the picture before pressing the shutter button, otherwise the picture will likely be blurred. Cons: The zoom would be easier to use if located on the back of the camera instead of around the shutter button, this is the main reason for my 4 star rating instead of 5. There is an extended zoom button on the back, but it takes the lens to full zoom. Overall this is a great little camera which I would highly recommend. This being said, I don't feel the picture quality is any better than my Kodak Z712 and the Kodak cameras are usually cheaper. In my comparatives, both this Panasonic and my Kodak take more vivid and true to color pictures, than the much more expensive Canon DSLR.Read full review
Focus is sometimes an issue as the camera seems to want to always return the last focus used even when the distance to the subject is remarkably different ( so way out of focus) upon restarting the camera. I like fact that many of the controls are the push button manual type versus screen driven menus.

By far the best "point and shoot" compact camera ever. The image quality is outstanding and the crystal clear optics are truly as advertised. Its perfect for eBay product images and amazing for all around photos, a real winner Beats many of the newer cameras for ease of use and picture perfect results.
