Becoming rare to find and not made like this any more. Old design cooker that works too well and last too long, profits drop off after most everyone has one and they keep working for 20 years or more. I repared a friends cooker that was a gift at their wedding over 15 years earlier, it went in water and quit, replaced thermal fuse and it works again. One button to push and walk away for perfect rice every time. New models with lots of buttons and even some with fancy displays cannot compete, I bought a new model, then hunted down this old model and bought it after the new one kept drying out the rice after an hour in warm mode. I would pay way more for a old cooker like this still new in the box.

My old rice-cooker broke down and a friend recommended the Zojirushi brand so I decided to try it. Gotta say it's quite easy to use and the measuring cup is really helpful since I sometimes cook to much or too little. The rice cooks really well so I'm happy with it. I bought the small size 5-cup as instead of the 10 cup since I'm only cooking for a few people every day. For those who wants more, then I'd say go for the 10 cup one.
The cooker seems to be excellent quality. My husband eats a lot of rice and is the one that cooks it. He is older and doesn't speak a lot of English. I bought fancy cookers before that wouldn't work for him. and cheaper models just didn't stand up. This one worked from the first day and is the same as I paid a lot more for from Miami that lasted for years. We are very pleased.

It's so easy to cook rice in this - basically just add the correct amount of rice and water and hit "cook". Definitely beats watching the pot over the stove. Sometimes I get a bit of slightly burnt rice at the bottom, but that's probably because I don't follow the measurements exactly most of the time. The non-stick surface makes it super-easy to clean.
Have been using Zojirushi Rice Cookers since 1982. Was on Okinawa and noticed this brand was being used in private homes and businesses both. I like the Jasmine Rice - rinse 'well' and follow directions on the label on the top of the cooker and I think you will be satisfied (be sure to measure rice and water correctly for best results).
