A good choice for a smaller space, bedroom, etc if one doesn't want to buy high end. Would recommend purchase.
Considering modest purchase price, the receiver produces good fidelity with tuner and CD. I have not used Bluetooth. However, I tried both my old phono turntable and then bought a new one with same results, which were reduced fidelity and low volume audio even with the receiver at maximum volume. If it needs some type of pre-amp., the specs and manual do not indicate it. Again, good sound and reception for the money except for my experience with phono. Considering modest purchase price, the receiver produces good fidelity with tuner and CD. I have not used Bluetooth. Not that pleased with it.
I did a lot of research looking for a good 2 channel receiver. I found someone had said they were surprised how far they had to turn up the volume before you can hear anything and weird as that sounds its true. aside from the volume the sound quality is subpar. I grew up on Sansui Receivers, so maybe I got spoiled but I also had pioneer and kenwood that had better sound. I would not recommend this receiver. I did a lot of research looking for a good 2 channel receiver. LOT'S OF NAME BRAND AND QUALITY FOR THE PRICE!
Well worth the price and the value is is all there! Bluetooth set up was easy, sound quality and bass is strong and clear, and the Yamaha brand consistently delivers what it advertises. This company and model puts it's money where it's mouth is.......

5 stars for Yamaha and their RS202 receiver. Got this to replace the RS201 unit so I could have Bluetooth and the updated version. Paired with Polk Audio 50's and 2 tower speakers the sound is fantastic..Perfect sound imaging with a detailed clarity that rivals the high prices audiophile units. Bluetooth is as clear as CD's although the bass is a little strong and you"ll need to tweek it down some. One of the best sounding 2 channel units I have ever had and I've gone thru Onkyo, Technics, Sherwood, Pioneer and Maranz5 stars for Yamaha and their RS202 receiver. Got this to replace the RS201 unit so I could have Bluetooth and the updated version.
