I was very surprised how good this set really is!
Just purchased this live 2CD set to compliment my Essential Springsteen 3CD set and a few other favorite Sprinsteen individual CDs loaded in my Zune collection. At times I'm a little weary of purchasing live collections, but honestly, I was very surprised how good this set really is. I owned Bruce's Live/1975-85 in album form years ago, but really never played it much because it was simply too long. On the New York City live CD collection, however, Bruce and Band plays and feels tight, updated and well recorded. Overall, a great listen that I'll play more than a few times.Just purchased this live 2CD set to compliment my Essential Springsteen 3CD set and a few other favorite Sprinsteen individual CDs loaded in my Zune collection. A Necessity For The Bruce Springsteen Faithful!
This excellent 2-CD release of Bruce Springsteen with E-Street band live tunes is the one set you put in the car and simply rotate. Whatever your favorite, it's in there with a love-of-music gusto that only Bruce Springsteen can deliver. Unlike many live recordings out of the controlled studio, these are full, rich with each musician identified and not lost in a maze of instruments and muffled voice. Of the few friends I have that state they're "not into Springsteen" (I was one of them) I have totally converted them with this CD set.
