Item was exactly as described, but there was a lock on the unit that wasn't disclosed in the original listing. Seller never responded but I was able to find a workaround on my own. Shipping was also longer than expected but item came through and was wrapped with care. 4 stars out of 5.

  • Almost more trouble than it's worth

When the PDA works it is awesome. The problem is, getting it to work. Almost half of the time I use the HP IPAQ Pocket PC Rx1955 I have to push the reset button on the back of the case. This must be a common problem because HP actually sends a tool with the package for performing a reset. The tip of the PDA pencil will work well if you lose the tool. My unit was also supposed to come with Windows 5.0 which should have an Adobe Reader built into it. This was not the case and when I contacted HP about it (after trying to get answers for about 3.5 hours) a technician in India (we all love outsourcing don't we?) told me they couldn't help me even though it was a problem with thier product, and I "need to find the proper add on researching it on my favorite browser". What ...

  • It's not HPs fault

The 189.00 price suggests you bought your unit refurbished as did I. I normally don't do that, but the new one I purchased took a long time to figure out what the heck was wrong. HP was very helpful in getting it to work properly with the right firmware upgrade without blaming the real culprit, widely known as Microsoft and Windows mobile. No manufacturer could possibly sell 100% of their units problem free with Windows mobile. When my device was working flawlessly after the firmware upgrade, I promptly dropped it, then again, then the third time a bad angle on impact. Broken screen, PDA works. No good to me. Buying refurbished is risky, it could be just a simple return, or badly beaten up return. I was lucky, and got a good one. The refurbished units are sold with the ...

  • Wonderful PDA w/Excel, Word, MP3 and WIFI

I mainly use the iPAQ PDA to sync with my company appointment calendar for time management. It is great to have Excel on the iPAQ for simple analysis when comparison shopping. The device boots fast. Others had problems out of the box because they didn't download product updates from HP site. I did that first and have had no problems :D The iPAQ gets good signal strength for WIFI (better then my old laptop with a 802.11b PCICMA card. No surprise that MSNBC, MSN, and HOTMAIL sites from Microsoft work better with pocket windows then others I've tried. Much rather surf on laptop, but handy in hotel/traveling to quick boot iPAQ instead of dragging out the laptop. Nice to view photos on it. Haven't tried MP3 player, but read that works good too. The SD card slot is ...

  • Great organizer for those who need many MS assoc tools

I like that it is fully compatable with my computer and if I need a driver for it to work better it is easy to find and get put into place. I needed away of organizing on the go and reducing the amount of material that needed to be at my fingertip whil travelling. I would buy one again and in fact this is my second. I broke the LCD on the first one in the first 3 weeks and replaced it almost immediately.
