Great, but could be better!
Only complaint I have is that is has no audio output. It has Bluetooth for smart phones so why it could not be used for audio out is a mystery..Tom Tom has audio out on it's European models..The only other complaint is the location and style of the on/off switch. Located on the edge of the unit in the upper left hand corner and awkward to use when the unit has sun screen and is in a dash holding bracket. No big deal as when plugged into cigarette lighter the unit autos on and when unplugged turns itself off. Other than that, the GPS is great, nice large sharp screen, user friendly touch screen..I would recommend this over all the other GPS units unless you really need the audio out feature.Only complaint I have is that is has no audio output. First the Good News...Large screen and readable streets and commands. Has lots of capabilities most of which I don't use but they are there for the true afficionado..Voice commands are good and "hands free" phone use is pretty good and clear. Finds most streets, navigates very well, and fairly intuitive Sticks very well to the windshield..unlike many others Bad News...no clock; only when you will arrive.. Medium to somewhat poor sensitivity. Needs a search engine to navigate the many many menus..needs a one word seach platform for different features..NOT 4 steps to get there.. Customer service needs help and streamlining. I purchased a TomTom GO 2535 GPS receiver from Ebay. I had a Garmin of equal features and cost but was unhappy with the speed of route changes. I did a Job down in Northern New Jersey which by the way is a great place to 'test out' any GPS system. If you can find a system which keeps you on the straight and narrow route in the very confused traffic patterns, you know you have a winner. The Garmin did not. Good Unit with a few bugs
Overall good unit. The touch screen response is a little slow but still good. The settings screen is a little convoluted but still fairly good when trying to find the option you want. The manual isn't very explanatory. It would help if there was a quick reference guide that showed what options there are below a heading. Very accurate with directions. What I have observed over the years, is that a manufacturer of a product is so in tune with it's own unit that they forget to write a manual or include info for the least sophisticated user. They forget that the buyer hasn't been beside them developing the unit for years and know all the ins and outs of the unit. True for TomTom manualsOverall good unit. Overall very nice device and I would recommend it.
Like many of the features of the unit. The magnetic mount works well, making it easier to remove from base and set the unit. Voice recognition seems not to work well for me. It does not recognize my commands. But unit is easy to set manually.
