  • Excellent card...

...BUT: If you are running Windows 7 64 bit, you will NOT be able to use any of the EQs or useful Creative software. I am very experienced with computers, and I have tried everything to fix the problem. The issue is that Creative has yet to make a patch for Win7 64 bit, and even though they know about the problem, they don't seem to be doing anything about it. Apparently some people have got other X-Fi cards to work, but it's hit or miss really. The card itself sounds great...but ONLY get this if you don't have Windows 7, or you don't care about actually being able to do anything useful with it.

  • Awesome controls and easy install

This replaced a previous sound card going on the fritz (because someone (me) tripped over the speaker cord while it was plugged in. Although the card wasn't completely done for, it was giving off static noise and then cutting in and not of one speaker. Enter this sound card: Pros: - Normal/easy install. - Software to run EAX on older games - No popping/driver issues so far (Win7 64bit) Cons: - I never liked the Fatal1ty brand logo. Although you read about many people having issues with Creative drivers and whatnot, I have yet to have an issue with drivers. Make sure you download the latest drivers and you should be fine.

  • Excellent Audio Quality, PCI-X, Digital Connections

Creative was really looking to only cater to certain crowds by restricting the higher end cards to Optical Digital connections. Although the price on this card is a bit steep the audio quality is phenomenal. Pros: uses PCI-X slot so it sits above my GPU and isn't in the way of SLI/CrossFire, really compact size (only ~4" long), TOSLink Optical Digital in and out right on the card, Full Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) driver and application support Cons: Creative's software and driver packages are really where their audio cards fall short. Support is there for Windows 7, but uninstalling/reinstalling their drivers is a hassle if you're upgrading from another Creative card. Price is still pretty steep because they own the aftermarket audio-card market. Other Info: I upgraded my Creative ...

  • EXCELLENT SOUND CARD

great crisp sound, heart thumping base, and my in-game voice chat has never been clearer.. now i just need the front panel upgrade... oh and if your upgrading from a previous sound blaster sound card like me (audigy2 zs) dont forget to uninstall the old b4 installing the new especially using windows 7, i had a few problems at first when i didnt uninstall the old 1st.. happy fraging

  • Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi
