Very good phone, excellent value, extremely satisfied
This is a very nice high quality device. Yes, as others have said, a bit old, heavier and bulky as well, but that lets in come in on the cheap. if you can live with Android 4.0, and want a rugged daily driver with a keyboard, (as I did), this is the answer. Screen size is not bad, keyboard is rugged, the phone itself is also very rugged. Simple and easy to use, but best to remove and/or deactivate the ATT bloatware. Speaker is loud and mics. seem good, reception and call quality is good. NEC support is non existent, and this phone can not be rooted either, so forget that. I found the camera very nice and very easy to use with convenient controls for zoom and exposure, which I really liked. Picture quality is fine on both front and back cameras. I had no issues with battery life, and while I've not timed it, it seems average and adequate, a lot depends on your settings, (GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Screen timeout/ brightness), and as mentioned, it has a power saver mode built in if you choose to activate that, so I am sure you can stretch it out quite a bit if you try. Just can't go wrong on this for $45! As mentioned, it's a shame they don't make a current model, NEC bailed from phone manufacture, our loss!

Great hardware, software support not fantastic
This is the best Android candybar style with keyboard I've used. Really rugged, battery makes it through a day or two, easy to hold, keys are fine. Stuck on 4.0 and some apps are confused by the odd screen size and keyboard. HTC did a better job with keyboard integration on the HTC Status, but this one is ok.

The battery life is good , 24 hours with wifi , whasap : 1900 amp The stability is also good , the phone restart 1 time per day maybe The perfomance is nice for dualcore, run fast and smooth This android system have cool details like battery counter reset when it is fully loaded and other little details I can use my spanish SIM card I dont recomend install all AandT applications because it can make it unestable , and enable Eco mode and all options to do not burn out battery and you can enjoy 24 hours phone . Excellent phone. Very happy with it. Everything arrived brand new without a scratch. Comes with US USB AC adapter and separate mini-USB plug. I don't think the phone itself is as tough as advertised by the manufacturer. NEC exaggerated a lot. It's a bit more durable than many newer smart phones, but not by much. More durable than an IPhone? Certainly. However, you will still require a case it for adequate protection. It's not drop-proof. Don't believe any such claims of this thing being the fort knox of cell phones. The OS runs fast and smooth. I had no problems with configurations. No lag. No crashing. Android 4.0.4 was on mine. The CPU seems to be very efficient, unlike many cheapo knockoffs. BE AWARE this is micro-sim only. I failed to read that detail, but luckily I ... Excellent phone. Very happy with it. I failed to read that detail, but luckily I had a micro in my old phone. Also has a micro-SD card slot. Both under the battery of course. The back has a lock on it, so it doesn't fall off easily. I like that extra touch. The screen is a bit small, which also means the icons and text are very small. So you don't want this if you have vision problems. However, the touch accuracy is outstanding! I was concerned I might have problems with such a small screen but was very pleased with how precise it is. The battery is pretty good. Not remarkable though. You get about 3 days but only if you turn off everything like wireless and bluetooth and the phone is idle. Use it often and it will only last a day. It came with a bunch of ATT only apps. I use mine in Germany where I am stationed, and it works fine over here. The ATT apps are useless on T-Mobile in Germany, but the phone works fine otherwise. I get good signal quality for normal phone use, but the 4G is kind of weak. I have a good coverage area but the phone seems to drop out of 4G simply by sitting in my car. The keypad is small of course. Each button is curved so you can feel the separation between the keys, but if you have big sausage fingers like me, it takes a bit to be confident you are hitting the correct button. Regardless, I like having a keypad and I am thankful for the option. Overall, for the price, this phone is an outstanding buy. Beats anything else in the same price range.

It's a nice rugged phone, unfortunately the battery lasts no more than 8 hours(probably some would say that it is hell of a lot) but when you think in a rugged device that maybe you're going to be using in open country where there are no power outlets in the trees you should consider how much you're going to use your device, OR you could have in mind to add an extra battery for that trip. Now the phone looks and feels nice, very sober and it's not that big, however AT&T has included TONS of useless apps that could slow your device and/or could cause unexpected phone restarts. In other words it's a FAIR device for what you're paying, really, if you have the money you could go with a Runbo but it is OK to be choosing NEC if you don't want to spend 5 times that money. NEC has quite experience ... It's a nice rugged phone, unfortunately the battery lasts no more than 8 hours(probably some would say that it is hell of a lot) but when you think in a rugged device that maybe you're going to be using in open country where there are no power outlets in the trees you should consider how much you're going to use your device, OR you could have in mind to add an extra battery for that trip. Now the phone looks and feels nice, very sober and it's not that big, however AT&T has included TONS of useless apps that could slow your device and/or could cause unexpected phone restarts. In other words it's a FAIR device for what you're paying, really, if you have the money you could go with a Runbo but it is OK to be choosing NEC if you don't want to spend 5 times that money. NEC has quite experience doing rugged electronics such as laptops, tablets etc. I would give an eight out of a ten for this device, and yes I'm planing to keep this phone until it breaks down. By the way keep in mind that this is not a very usual device, so you could have a hard time finding accessories for it.
