Bought this as it was a fast low light lens and cheaper than the canon equivalent but not inferior as I was very pleased with the results and have taken some very pleasing photographs with it its got a quick auto focus although its a bit noisier than the canon one but is no big deal glad I got it im pleased.

This lens, albeit very heavy and fairly loud whilst focusing, is fantastic. It's fast, it's relatively small, and does everything the far more expensive Canon counterpart does but for a lot less. After using both the Canon and Sigma versions many times before making my decision, I can safely say that I'm very pleased with mine.
the sigma 24 - 70mm, is an absolutely excellent bit of kit. The optics in this lense are fantastic, i'd say nearly canon L quality equivalent.. which has the potential to produce super sharp images with an absolutely gorgeous, smooth and creamy bokeh..
I do weddings.I use this lens for weddings, and similar events. It gives me a great light and sharpness. I recomand it if it does not exced GBP400*second hand* or GBP600 new/.
