Great Sounding SACD At A Great Price!
Great Sounding SACD! This is the best price I’ve ever seen on copy of a Japanese made version of this SACD. I paid 2Xs as much for the copy I have and it was used as well. First a lot of people don’t realize you need a SACD player for this to sound right. A 5.1 Blu-ray player is not going to give you the experience that a dedicated SACD player will. It will playback Dolby DTS 5.1 DVD audio properly, but SACD requires a SACD player to get the full potential from the disc. I haven’t had any issues with this SACD and it sounds remarkable when I can get into our den and play this back on our main Surround Sound system. Great Sounding SACD! Dark Side of the Moon is now much brighter!
This umpteenth reissue of the classic Floyd album is presented in 5.1 audio and absolutely blows the previous stereo versions away; the clarity and separation of the SACD edition reveal aspects of the recordings that were hidden in the previous mixes. This one's sounds SO good, it's as if a blanket were taken off the "regular" CD - my wife (who's hearing's not so acute) could immediately tell the difference between the two versions and said "that other CD can go. No comparison." Overall, the disc is remarkable. However, the last two track are unplayable. It's really a shame because the sound quality on the other tracks are outstanding. It could be that it was damaged in transit. I am looking to find a disc cleaner to buff out any imperfection. Or, I will have to find a replacement.
