The $100 to $150 dollar book shelf reference speaker market is very crowded. I prefer the clean sound reproduction of the Klipsch R-41M speakers. I don't mind the bass in the lower frequencies being underrepresented (the R-41M has 4" woofers) because you can always get a powered subwoofer. The top end is not too bright and really is accurate and precise. The midrange is usually split between the tweeter and the woofer and again is accurate and precise. With my particular vintage receiver, the db efficiency really takes the work off the unit as well. Good product.
