    great features and simple to operate

    First and foremost I love the Approach S3 and its features. But it drops the course , satellite connection about 2/3 times a round. You can not play 36 holes on a charge. needs more battery life. Still worth the price.

    Garmin S3 a dud

    Unit has VERY LOW battery life. It is difficult to unlock, generally taking ten to twelve attempts. Why is it locked and why is it so easy to lock inadvertently and difficult to unlock. It is counter intuitive in that you can't back up if you forget to enter score at end of hole. If you leave it on (no satellites, just time) at 100% charge for a day, then it won't stay going for 18 holes. There is a reason for this to be considered Refurbished as previous owner/assembler knew it had issues. Talked to another guy with S3 and he went back to his S2. It does, however, give me good distance data. My friends have S2's and laugh at me with my new fangled model which has issues. My experience has been bad.     calibration off

    My wife really loves this garmin, however, there appears to be a 3 to 10 yard difference. We've compared it, side by side, with other garmins on the course and this one seems to have a variance in yardage. sometimes it seems to be colse, and sometimes it appears to be off. Dan Crago
