    Love the remote!

    My old remote's slide switch at the top broke which was why I had to buy a new one. This one shipped quickly and worked even better than my old one. The old remote had a big delay in the response from the time I hit the remote to actually seeing the responce on the TV which I just thought was normal for Direct TV. Now I realize I just had a crappy remote. Glad the old one broke.

    IR remote - not RF as stated

    This remote is an IR remote and must be pointed directly at the receiver. In the ad it states that it is IR/RF. RF is radio frequency and does not have to be pointed directly at the receiver to function. It definately is not an RF remote control. Buyer beware that you will have to point this remote directly at the receiver in order for it to function. I returned the remote for a full refund.

    Great product Excellant price

    I wanted a second remote so I would not always be passing original remote back and forth. This remote is exactly like the one that came with my DirectTV DVR. Cost less then if purchased from DirectTV. Works perfectly.

    remote control

    We bought the remote because our wireless remote control extenders quit working. It was our understanding this remote would take the place of the extenders but it doesn't. You have to sit next to the wall where the receiver is in the other room in order for the remote to work.
