    Good flick, intense

A great film and opportunity for some insight into what addiction can look like for different people. It impacts some you wouldn't expect, and isn't solely reserved for criminals. There are triggers in this movie.

  • One of self-revalation about American greed and unconditional love

my favorite movie of all time shared with Dead man, with Jonny Depp. Requiem is directed by one of the finest of my generation. Sometimes following three or four split images at once it shows the similarities between "legal drugs" and drugs the government has deemed bad for us and the invisible line that separates the two categories, those that can produce taxable revenue and those deemed to hard to tax therefore illegal. The similar low esteem that drive an American drug culture and subculture. The similarities of effects that drugs can produce between fine upstanding citizens and junky scum are well protruded by some of the finest actor and actresses of two different Generation. The love that is real yet so easily for sale to cop more illegal drugs versus just going to your ...

  • Frightening Reality

Requiem for a Dream is a deeply disturbing movie about the descent into substance abuse by an older woman, tremendously performed by Ellen Burstyn. Upon receiving notification of a possible appearance on her favourite game show, she decides to lose weight and this is fueled by drugs. Darren Aronofsky uses many different camera and dream sequence techniques to drive us deep into the horrific effects of drug addiction. The acting is superb, but I will warn you off if this type of movie topic is disturbing as the images become increasingly horrific as the movie falls deeper and deeper into its own tale of depression.

  • Oh my goodness!

What a great movie, never seen anything like this before. I've always wondered how people could do the things they DO for the next fix. This movie showed that concept to perfection.
