I have successfully used this material on multiple motorcycle tanks. After tapping the tank back into shape, following minor crash damage, I was unsure of the interior condition. There was no serious rust and no pin holes, just potential flaking tank sealer and potentially loose surface rust. I wanted to capture all loose dust and debris to keep it from getting caught in a fuel filter. I plugged the petcock ports and poured this tank sealer in, slowly rolled the tank adequately to coat the entire inside surface. Then I pulled the plugs and retrieved the excess material in the original can. There was about half a can left over. A few years later, I needed to repeat the process on another tank. I bought another quart of the red tank sealer and mixed it with the left over material from the first job, which had stored perfectly in the can. I have been completely satisfied with the process and results of this tank sealer. I have recommended, repurchased this product and will probably do so again.Read full review

I recently applied Red-kote to my 1931 Ford gas tank. I followed the prepping directions as close as possible and the coating of the tank's internals seemed to. work well. But to completely coat the internals I did have to make up a special holding fixture that allowed me to rotate the tank for good fluid circulation. The tank had no detectable leaks so the process was precautionary only. Only time will tell if the product adheres to the surfaces or flakes off over time.

Very impressed with Red-Kote! I used it to seal up a rusty motorcycle tank that had developed two pin hole leaks on the lower left side. It was easy to apply and sealed the leaks....mission accomplished! I used about half of the one quart container for two coats on a small motorcycle tank. Assuming it holds up over time, this is the best tank liner I have ever used. Glad I finally tried it. Great Product!

It's great stuff, works well. Make sure you use enough of it, a second coat is an option, and be careful you don't spill it. MAKE SURE you have ACETONE at hand on the bench in case you spill. Seriously. Use a proper sized funnel and I recommend wrapping your tank in a plastic bag when pouring. Poke the funnel through the bag.

The best! I will never use another tank liner if it is not Red-Kote. I did follow all the instructions and I did prep the tank very well. The only thing that made me hesitate was the fact that the instructions said that you should drill a hole in the bottom of the tank to drain out the excess. I don't think too many people want to drill drain holes in their vintage motorcycle gas tanks. I called the factory and they told me that it was not absolutely necessary. It was not. I did not drain through a drilled hole, I merely made sure I did not put too much of it in the tank and I let the tank dry upside down and all worked very well . I am very pleased with the way this product works.
