    Powerful and easy to operate.

    Needed a long stroke jack to raise and lower the radar arch on my boat. After making an extension and fitting a baseplate this jack did just what I wanted. With a full extension of around 44 inches it easily coped with the job. It is easy to operate and does just what it says on the description.

    8 ton hydraulic long 'jack' ram.

    This product 'looks' OK but:- The casting has a poor quality finish (quite rough). The mounting holes through the casting are not at right angles to the axis of the cylinder. The mounting hole in the ram is under size preventing a 16 mm pin from being inserted. The paint is poorly adhered to the ‘barrel of the jack. Had there been no faults then the item would have been good value for money.

    8 ton ram

    For the money I don't think you'll find anything better than this ram. Easily lifted a big v6 engine and gearbox and has good control when lowering. Speed of lift is fine. Really a no-brainier if like me, your ram dies half way through an engine swap and you need a decent replacement without braking the bank.

    Long reach too short

    The ram is too short to replace to ram on my engine hoist. I have extended the ram and it now works. The ram length was not defined. I should have asked.
