I had a 160Gb that was stolen - I had to replace it and the 80Gb is enough. It gets me through a long road trip with questionable radio reception. I will start downloading audio books for this purpose as well. I bring it with me overseas every year and have a dock radio that I can play my whole music collection just like at home. There are some features that make it hard to use while driving. I also had some trouble getting the volume to lock. Since I never use it with earbuds, I want maximum volume and it wouldn't lock. I have to look down to select something or know what's playing since the screen doesn't stay illuminated.

Unable to comment on the battery life since I've only had the product for about two weeks. However, I was a little disappointed with the overall physical appearance of the product since I requested the product to be very good.

This newest iPod adds Coverflow, doesn't allow 5th gen games, video out through headphones, or some of the previous 3rd party accessories. I do love 80 GB in such a thin iPod. It can lag a little though. When you select an artist's name, it won't let you select an album until all of the album art has loaded. It adds a couple seconds, which is just long enough to be annoying. I've also had a hard time loading / fixing artwork. Itunes doesn't embed the art into the mp3 files, but in a seperate database. It works fine, and saves space, but your art won't be there if you switch to another mp3 player. I also get problems with the same album showing up 5 or more times in Coverflow. Hopefully iTunes will get smarter over time.
One of the best iPod you can use, has many Great features, though the one I ordered had Apple Replaced parts, so the functioning wasn't exactly as 'Brand' new, due to the re-configuring of parts,....but overall, very good mp3 player, the higher storage models great for someone who doesn't worry about expanding memory,...

This is still the reigning champ iPod. For those who think there are compatibility issues with the newer iTunes programs that is not true. The songs still sync just fine. If your having issues with your Classic syncing songs from itunes that means the Hard drive is having issues. This is not a compatibility issue. However being that it's a 2008 model your going to have some bugs. After syncing my songs it started to skip through all the songs until it could find one it could read. Unfortunately this is due to the hard drive starting to go out. So if anyone buys this model and you have the same issues just reset & re-sync the Ipod on Itunes and if that does not fix the problem then you will have to replace the hard drive. In this case i was fortunate enough to recover the hard drive by performing this procedure. However this does not always fix the problem. Eventually i will have to replace the hard drive. Overall the Classic 6 still reigns with it's monster size storage options and it's durability, and low maintenance costs.Read full review
