Value for money. Quite well alligned chuck with a more reliable key design, compact size. Auxilary handle a bit bent but okay. Have found to significantly improve on this basic design requires spending about ten times amount.

Only down side is need for chuck key instead of keyless

Needing a chuck-key to change bits is rather old-fashioned. This drill would be ideal if it had a keyless chuck, but aside form that it is fine. The speed of the drill is pressure sensitive depending on how hard you press the trigger, there is also a dial to adjust the max speed when trigger is fully depressed but I have only used it on the lowest setting which is fast enough. Corded drills are best because recharging is a pain, so this drill excels there. Switching between hammer and no hammer is not very clear but I finally got the setting right I think. This is a good drill to have as a starter or a back-up spare. I may buy a better drill at some point, a keyless one, if I can get around to it, but probably I will just use this one forever.

This is a poorly made drill Do Not buy it

for Ā£20 I would expect a new drill not to have lateral play in the chuck, this drill has about 1/8th of an inch lateral play so do not expecta correct size hole even when using a drill stand, this drill is okay if you are not bothered about quality and will drill holes just not exact ones, the play is all the way through the drill so the bearings are slack and that is where the play seems to come from but it could also be the moulding that holds them as this is a plastic cased drill, built right at the budget end of the market. Maybe it should be acceptable to to build this poorly as a lot of people would not notice the faults, but the whole reason dor a drill is to drill holes and to have lateral play is a large fault. DO NOT BUY

  • Value for money

This is not the best drill in the world. It is affordably priced and functions as it should. Supplied with an adjustable handle and depth gauge, it is as usable as any other, more expensive offering. It also comes with a pair of replacement carbon brushes which is a very nice touch. The hammer action works well as does the trigger mounted speed controller. This drill should only be considered for light to medium duty cycle work: i.e. short periods of work. If you need industrial duty cycles; this will not suit but, what can be expected for such a low unit price. I have used it on brick, stone, steel, aluminium and wood and wood composites without any problems whatsoever. If it gets hot, let it cool down; don't abuse it and it won't let you down. After all, if don't know how to use a tool ...

  • Good value drill.

A bargain for a DIY enthusiast, bearing in mind the price is very competitive I did a job to save calling in a tradesman so it saved me a lot of money. This is a value drill with a chuck key and easy to use on occasions for small jobs. It wouldn't be (in my opinion) a serious tradesmans tool but as a woman I found it easy to handle and not too heavy, it feels substantial enough for the small jobs I'm doing. Great value.

  • good value

i have brought the same drill before and its ideal for all types of materials to be drilled into being a builder for many years it was used a lot .no buying a battery type when you never know when the battery life goes and end up just with just a drill and a non chuck key type that you have to use a wrench to undo it after some time of use .500 w was quite enough for what i wanted it for remember the drill dont make the hole but the bit so get a decent one to make it easy for the hand drill there becomes wear on loose chuck over some years but for todays low price just get another one the cheapest can be the dearest but not with this drill
