Book in fabulous condition, packed well, and arrived in a timely fashion. A Big Thanks and 5 stars to this seller. I wanted this book for a friend and feel very lucky to have found if the first time I looked. I will also add, though this may not be the best place to say this-- it's so annoying for eBay to tell you to leave feedback when we all know Media Mail is nicely priced and that slowness is expected with that service, esp. in my location.

Great comparison of two versions of a wonderful family classic movie.

This two disc product was of amazing quality. The black and white copy was every bit as good as the original movie I remember seeing many years ago. The second disc of the updated colorized version was so much better than I expected it to be. The quality of the colorizing in this version was much more natural than what I have been used to seeing in other "modernized" old black and white films. I loved both versions of this classic as did my grand kids.

  • A Christmas classic for all time!

The original 1947 classic motion picture "Miracle On 34th Street" is still one of the most appealing Christmas movies ever made, and one of the 10 best movies from the decade of the 1940's. What this timeless film offers is a special opportunity to see great storytelling presented in a way that everybody can enjoy, time and time again. Edmund Gwenn convincingly portrays the role of Kris Kringle, a kind-hearted old gentleman who believes himself to be the one and only Santa Claus. Along the way, he encounters Mrs. Walker (Maureen O'Hara), who hires him on-the-spot for the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Parade after the first-hired Santa becomes intoxicated. Kringle is so believable that Macy's department store hires him as their full-time Santa Claus to greet people inside during the holiday ...

  • Holiday Classic Reviewed

The original is always the best, and Miracle On 34th Street goes along with the rule. I have seen this in its digitally restored version, and it is incredible to watch a childhood holiday favorite in its original state again. Maureen O'Hara (STILL beautiful in her 90's!!!) plays an overworked mother true to life, Natalie Wood a precocious child who is being cheated out of a normal childhood, and Edmund Gwenn playing Kris Kringle (aka Santa Claus) so convincingly one could STILL believe in Santa Claus in their adulthood! This movie takes you back to a simpler time in this country, when there was less to worry about than an unnecessary war, a tanking economy, and rising crime. The only complaint is that this movie is only shown around the holidays-I could watch this one at least once a ...

  • Go for the color version like this 2 disc set

I was channel surfing late Xmas eve and this was on AMC in color. I was impressed. I had never seen it in color before and Santa in his red suit and everything just seemed to open up a sense of wonder about the movie that really worked for me. The naysayer purists that think only the B & W original version of movies should be seen are just flat wrong! If you buy this in a store look carefully. Most misleadingly have a color dvd case and show all the pictures on the box in color when the dvd is only B & W. That is bad form! Look carefully for an older set like this one that has the colorized version of this movie. You will be glad you did.

  • Christmas classic with some Oscar worthy stars.

This movie is a classic and is a staple of our Christmas-time viewing. Our VHS was deteriorating and we were hungry for special features. Hence the DVD. If you watch this during the holidays, it is certainly a buyer. If it is new to you, it is worth of the price to enjoy Maureen OHara (and her commentary) and priceless acting by others (Natalie Wood and others whose names escape me but are Oscar notable). Perspective-wise, I am a 65 year old male who has nostalgic memories prompted by the movie. Love it. I hope you do too.
