  • Television and videos not good for children under 2

The name "Baby Einstein" can lull you into thinking it's okay or even good for babies to watch t.v., but the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no television AT ALL to children under 2 because so many studies have proven its harmful effects on children. Studies have shown that: - for every hour of television a baby watches a day, their chances of acquiring an attention deficit disorder increases by 10%. - among babies ages 8 months to 16 months, every hour spent daily watching programs such as 'Brainy Baby' or 'Baby Einstein' translated into six to eight fewer words in their vocabularies as compared with other children their age." - brain wave activity in babies is slower when watching television than when sleeping. "Signing Time" (Two Little Hands Productions) DVDs is an ...

  • Baby Galileo is Out of this World!

As frequent buyers and watchers of the educational movie genre, my family has had its share of Baby Einstein watching. This is one Baby Einstein movie that seems to get better (NOT more annoying) :) the more times I see it. In other words, my 20 month-old son loves it, and I don't mind replaying it every now and again. We have 13 Einstein DVDs at our home, and this is among the best. Although this is one of the Einsteins recommended for the older set (relatively speaking--9 mos), my son has loved this since he was about 6 months old. The DVD is filled with images of space travel, planets, and the sun and sky. It is fast-paced and fun. It is definitely in our top 3 of Baby Einstein videos--which include Neptune and DaVinci.

  • Baby Einstein: Baby Galileo (DVD, 2003)

It was a gift as we were shopping around Northern Ca. looking for one and stopping at all Target Stores while on the road. I did play it once and sent it off to New Mexico to the Grandson as they missed it by one day as they already left. I did read another sites review the parents said same music as other Einstein's shows. This is what the 16 month old recognized, it's music and first time he ever finish a whole showing. What do we know as adults! I'm guessing now, they could have the whole set.

  • I had this product for my son before it is awesome!

I know that Baby Einstein came under fire recently for apparently advertising false promises. However, my son had a couple of Baby Einstein videos, one with Beethoven, One with Bach and the Baby Galileo which I just reordered for my nephew who is turning 8 months. My son is now 5 and has a huge appreciation of music which I credit to his early exposure to the visuals and music on these videos. They are great and babies are mesmerized by the colorful images. Well worth the money. Stephanie Reyes

  • My Son Loves It!

My 9 month old laughs out loud at the puppets. I can't wait until he can talk his first words will probably be the planets. I agree that TV is bad for kids but not educational media done in a controlled environment. I have 2 other children who watched educational movies as toddlers and they turned out just fine. No ADD or ADHD. Some people just feel the need to take things to an extreme I guess. Anyway my son loves this Baby Einstein DVD!!
