    First Thoughts

    it is a big jump from Office on XP to W10 and Office 365. So far everything I have tried has worked well but the learning curve is steep because the way to actually DO something has, in general, radically changed. in the default. The good news is that MS has included many differing ways to accomplish tasks. And the user can modify the default to make it work the way he chooses. I believe that the vast majority of Office users will quickly learn to accomplish their daily tasks and incrementally learn to accomplish both old and new tasks better, quicker, and easier.

    Lap top installation failed

    This product was for 5 PC. Down loaded 2 of the 5 on Desk top PC the remaining 3 were trying to load them on a laptop PC. When the first time down loading to laptop it ran & ran for over an hour the same thing happened again on the next 2 attempts. Results 2 out of five worked. This was a loaded laptop with a intel i7 pros, 8 gig of ram and a terabit of hard drive.

    MS Office is still the professional standard

    I am a Mac user, but I think that Microsoft has done a great job developing the Office suite. The Mac versions are intuitive and powerful, even if not quite as powerful as their Windows counterparts. Particularly noteworthy are the iOS (iPhone, iPad) versions of the Office software. These programs are powerful and cleverly designed, and also make good use of the touchscreen elements of iOS devices. (MS Word on an iPhone is surprisingly useful!) It's also good that the software integrates with Dropbox and iCloud - a nice Microsoft nod to open systems. The license - any combination of 5 PC or Macs, plus any number of iOS devices - is a very good value, even if it requires a yearly renewal.     Let's start with the basics, for around $100/yr you get: 100 minutes of Skype each month 1tb of OneDrive storage - per user! 5 PC/Mac installs of the Full Office Suite Full Office Online via your browser Fully functional Office through your portable device of choice Probably something I've forgotten here, but it's a pretty solid deal. Issues: OneDrive has a limit to the size of a file it'll allow you to upload that is too small to contain a full zipped photo album of reasonable size In addition to the above, OneDrive doesn't recognize many file naming conventions outside of its own specified, so if you have file names that don't conform, get ready to spend a lot of time dealing with errors.     Extremely poor documentation

    There are many configuration questions I can not research or study in written documentation - video tutorials are general and not capable of answering my questions. The Answer Techs have only a limited knowledge and several who I've raised questions about Outlook 2016 in Office 365 only went around in circles and it became evident they did not know how to resolve my questions. We need official documents with extensive troubleshooting and a place to chat with a credible expert in Outlook 2016 and not an outsourced agent.
