Expired HP 02 ink
I would rather purchase expired ink from the O.E.M. than purchase ink from a third party. When purchasing from a 3rd party you may not get the same formulation as the O.E.M. which can lead to a loss of picture quality and fading over time. Also I have found that many of the 3rd party inks sold have very little ink in the cartridge raising the price per ounce considerably.

Be careful which color of magenta you are buying regular or light.
I have not yet been able to try the new cartridges that I purchased and have never purchased cartridges that were not HP. I just went in and looked at the ones that I just purchased and they say magenta on them but the printer has both light magenta and magenta. I thought I was purchasing the magenta, the color on the cartridge package is the same as the magenta (dark) on the HP cartridge, and it says "ma" on the cartridge not "lt ma", (light magenta) and they actually sent me the light magenta (its like light pink, instead of dark pink) which I already have several en que. This could be my fault but I did try to make sure I was buying the correct dark magenta ones and really read what I was buying due to the fact that I have never purchased a non HP brand. Just be really careful which ... I have not yet been able to try the new cartridges that I purchased and have never purchased cartridges that were not HP. HP ink cartridge passed expiration date
The ink cartridge is working fine. It does give me a out of date notice on the printer, which I can move passed. It is much better that the Chinese knock off which leaked ink all over the place.
