I'm on my sixth dyson vacuum with four currently in use around the house. I LOVE them all. The v15 Detect is an equal amongst the others and serves its own role in my line-up. i.e., I have a v7 for the cars, v6 absolute for quick clean-up/outdoor use (older one don't care that it's getting beaten up) and an older upright ball which I use for the garage. There are two things I would offer to consider when thinking about the v15: - its heavy. Get ready to build up some forearm muscles - I wish mine came with the fluffy slim head cleaner. Not sure what the deal is with the attachment but it seems like most don't come with it and they have been on backorder forever Finally, the particle counter/meter/measure feature is interesting and shows the advanced technology of Dyson but, in reality, I'm not sure it provides any real value. I can't say that knowing the particle size of what I'm collecting and that it never shows me a materially different reading is helpful. Cool, yes. Worth a premium, not in my book, and I am a huge Dyson loyalist. I would tell you not to get it, as I am happy with mine, I would just offer to think about how you are going to use it. All the cordless Dyson stick vacuums are awesome but, in my book, each has a preference depending on your primary use. If you are truly considering a Dyson as your sole vacuum for an entire home or apartment, then the v15 will be awesome. Read full review

Awesome machine & technology. It performs as expected. I didn't find it to be too heavy especially compared to the corded vac I used previously. The only drawback is one has to hold the trigger to have continuous suction. It should be made to provide continuous suction once turned on. Otherwise, it's great!

Many good things about this vacuum cleaner, including the laser light that illuminates the dirt. Negatives are the battery life which is only about 40 min despite reading that it should last 1 hour. Our house has wood floors throughout and the 40 min doesn't allow enough time to vacuum even one of our two levels. As a result, I had to buy a second battery for another $120. It also doesn't vacuum well under beds (but maybe it's not intended to?) and the swirvy head is great except when vacuuming under furniture where it can be hard to control.

Great features and expected Dyson quality. The handle is longer and heavier than my previous Dyson 8 making it a little more difficult to use with the attachments. The provided mollies to hang the machine were useless.

Fantastic vacuum, loads of features and uses. Runs a little longer than my last Animal 10. Easily tells how much battery is left depending on your suction setting. Fluffer/laser light bar is a must have for hard floors as it lights up the dirt. Finally the auto setting for suction works well as move to different surfaces and it adapts.
